About us

Summer Feeling am Unistrand is an event organised by the Chair of Sport Sciences II - Sport Governance and Event Management of the University of Bayreuth. Since 2012, the event has been organised as part of a seminar by students on the Sports Economics (B. Sc. / M. Sc.), Media Studies and Media Practice (B. A.) as well as Media Culture and Media Business (M. A.) degree programmes. Dr Kristoff Reichel is the seminar leader for the 41-strong team, with Prof Dr Markus Kurscheidt as patron.

Summer Feeling Team 2024

In the following, we introduce the team of the Summer Feeling am Unistrand 2024. As the event is organised as part of a seminar, the organisational team changes every two years. How it all started

Our "founders" Lasse Schmitt, Niklas Grasser and Raphael Suryatanto at the first Summer Feeling at the University Beach in 2012.

Summer, sun, sport and a good mood? It's all there, the only thing missing is the right place to relax and unwind. That's exactly what the initiators - Lasse Schmitt, Niklas Grasser and Raphael Suryatanto - thought, and so the three students of Sports, Business and Law decided to launch "Summer Feeling at the University Beach" in the fall of 2011, transforming the University of Bayreuth campus into a beach with a playing field using hundreds of tons of sand. The event, which took place for the first time the following year, proved to be a complete success. In the years that followed, it was always possible to build on the original foundation and the event got a little better and bigger each time, with more sand and more cultural and sporting highlights. After a six-year break due to the pandemic, the Summer Feeling on the University Beach will take place for the fifth time from June 13th to 24th, 2024.
